Hurst Boiler Selector Tool
The digital companion to the Hurst Quick Selection Guide, built for engineers sizing and specifying boilers.
Hurst builds 15 series of steam and hot water boilers, from compact verticals and through-door retrofit units to 2,500 HP Scotch Marine wetbacks. The tools below help you narrow that line to the right starting point for your project. Filter by pressure, size, fuel and space constraints, convert between boiler units, and run quick checks on hot water flow, blowdown and feedwater. When you have a direction, request a submittal and our team will take it from there with sizing support, pricing and factory coordination.
Hurst Boiler Selector
Narrow the 15 Hurst series to the ones that fit your job, convert between boiler units, or run quick system checks.
Type in any box and the rest update. Boiler horsepower is 33,475 BTU/hr output, or 34.5 lb/hr of steam from and at 212°F.
Assumptions
Quick checks for the rest of the boiler room. These are standard formulas; enter your own values where noted.
Hot water flow
Load, flow and temperature drop, from Q = 500 x GPM x ΔT. Change the fluid properties for glycol.
Steam boiler size
Used by the blowdown and feedwater checks below.
Blowdown
Cycles of concentration and continuous blowdown needed to hold boiler water at its TDS limit.
Feedwater and condensate
Feedwater demand, feed pump capacity, makeup water and receiver storage. Includes blowdown when it is entered above.
