Lead Boiler Repair Technician
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain boilers and pressure vessels in the field, from tube replacement and welded section repairs to hydrostatic testing. You will lead complex repairs, document findings, and coach other welders. Ten plus years of welding and fabrication in the boiler industry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Use your mechanical abilities to troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on commercial and industrial boilers, burners, and boiler plant equipment across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.
- Repair boilers and other pressure vessels in the field by unbolting or flame cutting defective sections or tubes, installing new tubes, fitting and welding new sections, and replacing worn lugs or bolts.
- Evaluate and troubleshoot boiler room systems. Perform complete internal and external examinations of boilers and auxiliary equipment. Prepare detailed reports noting necessary repairs.
- Replace refractory, gaskets, and other parts as required.
- Perform hydrostatic testing of boilers.
- Maintain welding procedure specifications when fabricating or performing work.
- Perform boiler and pressure vessel preventive maintenance.
- Provide assistance, coaching, and mentoring to other welders.
- Perform and complete all tasks with little supervision.
- 10 years welding and fabrication experience in the boiler industry is preferred.

- Consistent ability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 lbs, roll out tubing, and push or pull heavy materials with mobile equipment.
- With a large service territory, a company service van will be provided. Overnight travel may be required.
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights without fear.
- Valid driver’s license with clear record.
- Applicants must pass a pre-employment background check and initial and subsequent random drug screening.
